Question:  How do I pick which service is best for our ministry?

Keep in mind that the streaming media service that you choose is only as effective as your audience has the capability to listen to or view your media.

Live audio broadcasting can be effectively accessed by just about everyone who can connect to the internet; whether the listener or viewer has a dial-up or highspeed (DSL, broadband, or cable) connection.

Video broadcasting, be it live or on-demand, is better accessible through a highspeed internet connection because it provides your viewer more of an uninterrupted viewing experience.  Incorporating streaming video media when your audience is mainly made up of people with dial-up connections is counter-effective and may frustrate your audience because of the slow connection that dial-up offers.

Ministries that choose to incorporate streaming video media also include streaming audio as an alternative for people who have dial-up, or slow connections.  From a general perspective, providing both video and audio alternatives gives your audience the option of viewing or listening to your media as they choose.
